The Microcement System
Every Marlot Baus microcement table is built with a nine-layer surface system designed for daily use. The core is sustainable low-density MDF. On top of that core we apply:
- 1 primer layer
- 1 base microcement layer
- 3 fine-finish microcement layers
- 4 coats of waterproof sealer, reinforced with a flexible mesh
This system creates a surface that is smooth to the touch, continuous, and highly resistant to water and stains when properly maintained.
Daily Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, use warm water with a mild soap. Wipe the surface with a soft damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth. No specialised products are required for normal use.
What to Avoid
- Hot objects: Do not place hot pots, pans, or dishes directly on the surface. Always use trivets or heat-resistant mats.
- Sharp objects: Avoid cutting directly on the table. Use cutting boards to prevent scratches.
- Acidic liquids: Lemon juice, vinegar, and other acidic substances can affect the sealer over time. Clean spills immediately with a damp cloth.
- Abrasive cleaners: Do not use scouring pads, abrasive sponves, or harsh chemical cleaners. They can damage the waterproof sealer.
Stain Resistance
The waterproof sealer makes the surface highly resistant to common household spills. Coffee, olive oil, and tomato sauce can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, provided the spill is addressed within a reasonable time.
Warranty
Every Marlot Baus table comes with a 3-year warranty covering:
- Structural integrity of the table
- Surface delamination
- Manufacturing defects
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper use, or unauthorised alterations to the surface.
