What is a microcement table?
A microcement table has a continuous surface applied by hand over a stable MDF core. At Marlot Baus, every table is built with a nine-layer microcement system applied by hand in our Barcelona workshop. The result is a seamless surface that is warm to the touch and water-resistant.
The nine layers
- A primer layer that bonds the microcement to the MDF
- Two base microcement layers that create texture and colour
- Two fine-finish layers for depth and consistency
- Two pre-seal layers that prepare the surface
- Two final seal layers that create the waterproof barrier
Each layer cures before the next is applied. The full process takes approximately twenty working days.
Available colours
Five microcement colours: Off White, Ivory, Sand, Gray, and Black. Each is applied by hand with subtle tonal variations characteristic of the process.

- Water-resistant: The sealed surface resists coffee, wine, and oil
